Opinion Survey on the Use of SmartPLAY System
28 Feb 2024Issued at HKT 00:00
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is conducting a survey to gauge the public views on using the new intelligent recreation and sports services booking and information system (SmartPLAY) (Phase 1) to summarize user experiences on Phase 1.
SmartPLAY was officially launched on November 9 last year. The core functions of Phase 1 include facility booking, programme enrolment, user registration and management, facility management, recreation and sports programme management, balloting and allotment, attendance management, payment arrangement and mobile application.
The public are invited to participate in the survey conducted by the LCSD at major recreation and sports facilities, including sports centres, tennis courts and soccer pitches, from February 28 to March 12. Users at the venues will be invited to scan the QR code and complete the online survey on their mobile phones.
As at mid February, more than 490 000 users have registered for SmartPLAY. Currently, the system operates smoothly and registers an average of more than 10 000 successful booking records every day. Members of the public can also enrol for various recreation and sports programmes through the system. According to record, the proportion of bookings and enrolments made using the new mobile app of SmartPLAY accounts for nearly two-thirds of the overall number of bookings and enrolments, a testimony of how the new app provides convenient services for the public.
Apart from providing various booking channels and installing 375 smart self-service stations, the LCSD has also added “Fast Payment System (FPS)” as a new electronic payment method. At present, almost all (96%) of the users pay by electronic payment methods, and 11% of the transactions are done by the newly added FPS. The newly added personalised services, such as "My watchlist" and "My interests", allow users to set search criteria according to their personal needs and preferences. Other new functions of receiving push notifications and uploading and updating qualification records are also popular among users. The LCSD will continue to enhance the system to meet the needs of the public.
